Torsional vibration, activated by the gas and mass forces of the piston engine inside the powertrain, are noticeable as a kind of drone of the vehicle body or as a transmission rattling. The increasing comfort demands of the customer, provokes the automobile industry to develop innovative solutions for vibration isolation and to launch these solutions on the market for middle and small class vehicles, too.

Based on the extensive detail knowledge and special adapted measuring and testing technique, GIF offers qualified support in the development of torsional vibration dampers for the vehicle powertrain:

Several component test benches and special configurable powertrain test benches enable extensive investigations such as function monitoring and release of systems for the damping of rotational irregularities. Tuning and verification tests, carried out in test vehicles, lead to exploitable results during the early prototype stage with regard to the grade of isolation and noise behaviour. Due to this wide performance spectrum, GIF is able to significantly reduce the duration and costs for the development of torsional vibration dampers.
