From April 19 to 22, 2007 the AERO - the most significant Trade Exhibition for General Aviation of Europe - took place in Friedrichshafen, Germany. GIF was presented together with Automobil-Prüftechnik Landau GmbH at the collaborative ALROUND-booth A5-ALR in hall 5.

AERO takes place every two years. Since Friedrichshafen is a scenic city, AERO is the ideal platform for the European market for General Aviation. 750 exhibitors from 30 nations presented their products and services to nearly 50,000 visitors.

On the collaborative booth the demonstration model of the 6 cylinder flight Diesel engine AD 177 with a reduction drive (FMG) developed by GIF was of particular interest. Additionally the main focus of the GIF appearance was the demonstration of the development capacity in the transmission sector and the experiences in the domain of vibration damping. Besides the presentation development step of FMG a cutaway model of the MTD - Mechanical Torsion Damper - was presented. Since 2000 GAT, a joint venture of ZF Sachs and GIF, has already produced more than one million parts for the automotive industry.

For the experts the MTD, matched and patented for the aviation, was an innovation and it was appraised and challenged with high interest - like the whole appearance of GIF.
