News 2006
From the 4th to the 7th of December 2006 transmission experts get together at the fifth CTI Symposium "Innovative Automotive Transmissions" in Berlin, Germany. On the 5th and the 6th of December they have the possibility to visit ten plenary speeches and nine parallel sessions with the following highlights:
- MT, AMT, DCT, AT, CVT and IVT
- Hybrid drivetrains and transmissions
- Transmission for AWD
- Transmission components
- Transmission electronics and
- Development tools and simulation.
Dr. Jan Schlipf, GIF managing director, starts his speech about the "Development of the cone ring transmission" at 3.20 p.m. on the 6thof December in session G. Topics of the lecture will be the functional range and the development status of the transmission, the examples of component development,s the used development techniques and the application of the Cone-Ring-Transmission. The lecture will be translated to English language simultaneously.
On the accompanying exhibition "Transmission Expo" 70 exhibitors introduce their products. The main focus of this year's GIF presentation is the transmission component development. At the booth experiences can be exchanged between experts.
The programme is rounded by a transmission test drive on the ADAC Centre of driving safety in Berlin Brandenburg / Linthe on the 7th of December. Interested people can compare up-to-date transmission concepts and prototypes and can talk with engineers on site. The Cone-Ring-Transmission developed by GIF can be driven, too.
An additional seminar day on the 4th of December is addressed to newcomers and career changers. Experts of the University of Braunschweig present "Basics and practice of Automotive Transmission".
