GAT - Gesellschaft für Antriebstechnik mbH honored with Ford's 2004 Golden World Excellence Award

DEARBORN, Mich., 30. April 2005 - The GIF-Participation GAT - Gesellschaft für Antriebstechnik mbH received Ford Motor Company's Golden World Excellence Award for its superior performance in 2004.

The World Excellence Awards provide annual recognition based on quality, cost and delivery performance. 52 suppliers from 21 countries won awards in various categories.

There are three types of World Excellence Awards: Gold, Silver and Recognition of Achievement. The Gold and Silver Awards are given to suppliers that excel in quality, delivery and cost; 17 suppliers won the Gold Award, and 26 suppliers won the Silver Award.

More than 200 of Ford's production and non-production suppliers attended the seventh annual event on 28. April 2005 at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.

"For achieving the highest level of performance, we gratefully recognize GAT - Gesellschaft für Antriebstechnik mbH for its exceptional contributions and efforts," said Tony Brown, Ford Senior Vice President of Global Purchasing. "Tonight we recognize the best of our best suppliers. You are an impressive group providing us with a wide range of outstanding products. ... As the highest honor a supplier can earn, the awards are our opportunity to recognize and acknowledge significant and outstanding contribution to the vision of Ford Motor Company". The company was announced with "GAT is a long term preferred supplier who is the benchmark in cost efficiency for the Dual Mass Flywheel commodity. They continually deliver excellent quality from their very lean manufacturing process for both North America and Europe."

The keynote speaker was Ford President and Chief Operating Officer, Jim Padilla, who said Ford and its suppliers, many of which have been part of Ford's extended family for many years, show a vision and strive for many of the same goals.

The MTD is currently used worldwide in Ford vehicles with its new I4 engine.
